Gardening in Southeast Wisconsin
If you're like me, your spring vegetables are winding down while summer plants are on the rise! Tomatoes are showing their small green fruits, spicy peppers are ready to be harvested, beans are getting bushier, cucumbers are climbing! If you fell behind in your spring or summer garden, there is still time to plant for a fall harvest!
Direct Sowing:
carrots
beets
beans (snap and last call for dry here)
soybeans
arugula
cilantro
heat tolerant lettuce
sunflowers
zinnia
Indoor Sowing (second half of month):
final succession of sunflowers (if you like to indoor sow and transplant)
beets
heat tolerant head lettuce
basil
dill
cilantro
fall broccoli
radicchio
final sowing of fall cabbages and cauliflower
